I want to make some extra money cleaning cars at £5 a time , Could i go to somewhere like Tescos and ask to do this to customers cars ? I was thinking of saying to them i would charge customers £5.00 with 1 pound going to Charity .

well i am not to sure if its legal, but it should be cos i cant stand when dey do it, and then they be looking for some money for something that i dint want lol

Most places, Tesco included, won't be willing to lose some of their valuable parking to your business. They generally welcome full-on organised charity fund-raisers doing this occasionally.

Well...here in Florida each county has laws on water usage and water reclamation. Here in Osceola Co. there is pretty hefty fine for using water like that during the Dry Season. Since your wanting to charge "5 Pounds" I'm guessing your in a British Commonwealth country if not in the UK itself. If I were you, check with the owner of that Tescos AND the local township/municipality and see what they say about a "for hire" enterprise, using public water for it and what type of paper work you'll need. I'm willing to bet they have a website that the Tecos owner should know...Hope this helps;-)

You would need permission and its some places you would need permit. If you give to charity you may need to prove that as well

It's fine, because you are not selling a product, just a service. You need to ask permission at a Tesco's, but some carparks which are public property might be ok just to wing it. You would also need to offer proof of the proceeds going to charity. Most charity work is 100% proceeds to the charity, and you volunteer your time, minus costs like uniforms, and cleaning materials.

Best to be honest and just say you are trying to make a little money part-time, and if you make 1000 then you will donate 100.

Go and get a T-shirt printed and a Hat with matching colours so you have a little bit of a "uniform" to wear. 0 or 30 pounds would cover that, easy. You need people to trust you with their car, remember.

Something like "Saving for University" or "Help Teens Fight the Recession"

Adults will get a kick out of that.

No I don't think you can stay in the middle of a TOWN and clean cars. Unless you open up a car wash. Most likely a cop will come along and you'll be in a heap of trouble. OR you can let people bring their cars into your garage for cleaning. but about the town thing... i don't recommend it
