Meaning, if I place an online order for say...$366 and the day I place the order, they put an authorization through on my debit card (the funds are not accessable to me). Two days later the order ships and another authorization (though this time in two parts that sum $366) is pulled from my account.
Upon caling the company they 'reassure' me the initial $366 would be refunded within 5 business days. I'm appauled. Not only could that make my account overdraft, especially if a mortgage payment or other large payment came in, they are preventing me from using that money.
So, are online consumers (perhaps just with this particular business???) supposed to set aside $732 from their account for a $366 order? I'm stumped. If you have any links to information on this I would appreciate it!
