Is it legal for a landlord to discuss the business of another tenet with another?

I lost my job Mid December, my rent was paid in full and I got assistance for half of it this month from a local agency and I told her that I would be able to pay her the rest as well as February's rent, February is my last month on my lease, when my income taxes come in.

Today out of no where I got a certified letter from her lawyer stating that I had to pay her $1500 in five days or be out in 2 weeks.

Well it was discovered that she sent a letter to another tenet down the hall which contained a warning to keep the noise down and in this letter it contained the fact that I and some one else was being evicted.

Is it legal for her to be discussing my personal, and unfortunate business with some one else?

Did she give your name or apartment number anything associated that would lead them to you, because if she did, that is illegal. I would definitely get a copy of the let she sent to the other tenant and take to legal counsel about what you can do

Yes, it's legal. It's also horribly unprofessional of her. Sadly, there are no laws which will allow you to sue her for this pathetic breach of expected confidentiality. If you manage to successfully leave these premises and move elsewhere, I'd not blame you for giving her a verbal dressing down which she will NOT forget for a couple of years.

Good luck.
