Is it kind of silly to argue and debate about god's existance?

I am an atheist, and I have very strong opinions. And I'm not going to lie, I have been a part of debates (both on Y!A and off) about god and religion. However, at the same time, I think it's a bit silly to debate about these things at this time, because we don't have any information about it. (Yes atheists, I know this is why we don't believe in god.)

My point is that it's ridiculous for any human being to actually think they know what's going on in the universe. I feel like I'm not making my point very clear, but... eh. Does anyone agree?

Three things not to talk about with mixed company....Religion...Politics...And Sports.....Because every one has an answer that they know that it is right and the debate is on!!!

First, I am a Christian, and I strongly believe in my faith. But...I am also aware that my beliefs are a result from my personal experiences, my upbringing, my friends, and my personality. I can totally see how somebody brought up in a different environment would think differently.

If it was SO obvious, then everybody would have the same belief...even I have questions.

I think debating is good, as long as it's done respectfully. Debating helps a person understand their own beliefs better because you are forced to explain and defend them. After debating and hearing other people's ideas I've even tweaked some of my own. It's healthy if done right.
