Is it just me or is AJ Smith (The San Diego Chargers GM) getting on your nerves?

I admit he does well drafting players and scouting them. But come on!!! He dose not even invest in the Free Agency!!! I think we could have used Brian Dawkins, Jermaine Phillips or a few others.

On top of that the LT situation is getting out of hand. They just said Friday (March 6) that it is out of "their" hands and now in LT's. If they are not going to keep LT or make him the offer he wants then why not try to make some trades or pick up someone???

I am just curious to know how you all feel about the San Diego Chargers General Manager, AJ Smith.

Thank you.
Like I said he does a good job drafting/Scouting (I am aware of that). At the same time when you look at other teams that WON a superbowl they invested in the free agency or a trade ie. Pat's, Pitt's should I go on?. History repeats itself Jimmy. A powerful Dyansty should be the goal ie. Pat's, Pitt's etc. I can''t help but to notice that as a GM he needs to seal the deal so that we can at least make it to a super-bowl before we lose our valueable players to age, contract experations etc.

How is this not viewed as a major discrepency? You can obivously tell that what he has been doing has NOT been working. He even admittied in a press confrence that he is not doing well. Did you fail to realize that Jimmy? or do you even know what you are talking about?

I hope you are not one of these back-seat NFL "Fans" Jimmy. (No offense)

Thanks.

No one will give up what AJ Smith wants for L.T. He is expecting to get a 2nd round pick for him, but no one will make that trade for a 30 year old RB who is probably on the decline.

The way you're going to win in the NFL is by scouting well and doing well in the draft. Free agency is overrated. You may get one good player out of it, but you're usually going to overpay for the players since anyone worth having will likely have competition.

As for LT, who knows whats going to happen. I think they should keep him, since I think he's still got some game left in him and he wants to be there.

Overall, I think you have to love Smith. Just because he isn't making moves in free agency doesn't mean he isnt trying, just means his offers haven't been enough. I mean, look at all the great moves he made. He made the trade of the #1 pick the year VIck was the top player, you guys could have had Vick and been the ones losing out on a star who went to prison, but instead you got LT and picks. He didn't bite on Eli's threats, took him anyway, and traded him for the best QB in that draft, Rivers, and got Kaeding and Merriman to go along with it. He took a team that, at that time, no one wanted to go to and made them playoff contenders. How can you not like him.

AJ Smith is not making the best decisons, i mean why did he and Dean Spanos fire Marty Schottenheimer? especially after the year he led us to the #1 nfl seed in the playoffs, i mean we were close in that game, but why couldn't he have another chance?
