Is it just me or do I not look like what I see in the mirror in my pictures?

Im having a problem with the way my Sidekick 3 phone takes my pictures. I dont know if its the lighting in the rooms I take it in or what, but for some reason it just doesn't capture what I see when I look in the mirror. Do you guys think it may be the lighting? The quality of the camera? Also...do you guys think a professional photoshoot would solve my problems? Because im trying to put together a portfolio for modeling. Thanks.
