Is it just me or do book smart people generally have no common sense?

Ive noticed alot of really smart, intelligent, straight A student type people generally don't have common sense (im not saying all of them do, but quite a few do). They tend to make the most easiest everyday task's quite hard for themselves. I've been in school with them, ive worked with them ive lived with them and i don't know maybe its just me but it seems like knowledge and wisdom don't come hand in hand.

Anyone know anyone like that?

no thats really true sometimes actually!
im not being stuck up but im pretty darn smart with my grades, speaking, learning and intellect but dude when it comes to common sense im a goner.
its quite ironic because im the brightest out of all my sister as my mum says (theyre not dumb though!) but they have all the common sense in the world, and me... zip zero zilch.
I get made fun about that all the time and its funny hahaha
