Is it irregular for your basketball shot to go to the left?

Lets say im 20 feet away from the net and pretty much dead centre. Since i shoot with my right arm, i seem to notice that the ball will go a little to the left in the air. Does that make sense or is there something wrong with my shot? Or should my shot, from where the ball leaves to where net is, should the shot pathway be 100% straight and perpedicular with the net?
