Is it illegal to use someone's image in copyrighted material without their consent?

I attened a preaching school a few years back. Since then, I have come to realize that I do not agree with the positions they hold, therefore I no longer support them. Every year they hold a lectureship and sell the lectureship books for anywhere from $30 - $40. They sell them with a CD or you can buy either the CD by itself or the book by itself. Both are copyrighted material. Since I have gone to school there, the attendance has dropped in number. I guess, in order to make the school look bigger, instead of putting this year's class on the 2009 CD, they put my class (class of 2006). I am in the photo with my classmates. This mis-represents me in two ways. 1. It makes it look as if I support a school I no longer support. 2. It makes me look as if I am part of the 2009 class when I am not. They used this photo (with me in it) and did not ask my consent. Is this illegal or could I demand royalties by them using my image to sell copyrighted material? Any advice would be of great help.

i would most definetely confront them about it, but it depends on if in 2006 they paid you a certain amount per CD sold. if they did, then they should most definitely compensate you for using that picture to sell the CD.
