Gnutella, G2, FastTrack, & Limewire? I've always heard you're not supposed to use P2P Clients like Gnutella, G2, FastTrack, Limewire, etc. And I have done a little research. And it seams as if most of the cases of the RIAA suing someone was because of the (stupid) individual was unknowingly SHARING a large amount of files from their computer over a P2P network, and not for DOWNLOADING files from people that are sharing their files. And it also seems that the tallest blades of grass (people sharing lots of files) are cut (sued) first. So is it illegal (or more steep of a fine) to SHARE copy-written files from your computer through a P2P network? And is it also illegal to DOWNLOAD copy-written files through a P2P network from an individual that is sharing those files on the network from their personal computer? I also had a hard time finding a case of the MPAA cracking down on an individual for sharing or downloading movies on a P2P network. Same for software bootlegging. I'm also wondering if movies and software are illegal on a P2P network? sharing & downloading
thanks
