My school is insisting on taking the middle school girls on one field trip, and the middle school boys on another. My mom says that she's pretty sure that there was a law passed against this, because girls used to take home ec. and boys used to take woodshop. Is this true? Or is she wrong?
Also, are field trips allowed to last longer than school is actually in session? This field trip is from 5:30 a.m. to 7:10 p.m. My mom had to organize a field trip for another school, though, and she says that she wasn't allowed to have the kids any later than the time required for them to get back to their school before school let out. Does anyone know if there's a rule against this, either?
