Is it illegal to hitch hike in Montana?

I have 2 big duffle bags and I need to get to Sheridan Wy asap. I have no money and there are no agencies, Salvation army has no funds, that will help with the cost of my busfare. The churches around here are unable to help as well. Missoula Mt.
 
Yes, but drinking while driving is not.
Go figure.

But, if you have no choice maybe the cops will give you a ride. It was my experience that they were very helpful.
 
Do you really think a sane person is going to stop for a stranger with two duffel bags?
Only psychos and perverts would stop...and that might not be good for your health.
