is it illegal for a dealer to sign a car loan and then not to keep it?

i had a car loan thru turner acceptance and traded in that car into golf mild ford they said that they will payoff my loan with turner and after 3 months they made me take the car they had given me and told me that they were voiding the deal and that they were going to give me my old car back.
