Is it harder to become a High School Teacher?

Im sitting around thinking about my future, and i definitely know i want to be a teacher someday... preferably an english or an art teacher but i cant decide if i want to be an elementary school teacher or a high school teacher.....i mean i know they probably make roughly the same, and i think id prefer high school only for the reason that i can have intelligent conversations with my students... but whats the schooling like? Is there more schooling required to become a high school teacher? And are the classes required more difficult? i just figured this would probably factor into my decision...not that im even currently in school... i just want to have something specific to aim for
