A few years ago i started chatting with a woman online. we exchanged some emails and she sent me some provactive pics. She was married so i got cold fet and never ended up meeting her. Well i was goin thru and deleting old emails and seen hers and i started thinking how wrong it was.
So i knew what her husbands name was so i created a bogus facebook account and emailed him and told him she was cheating on him. he said he wanted proof so i told him to give me his email address and i would forward him the emails with the pictures. So i forwarded him 3 or 4 emails she had sent me that had the pictures in it. About a week later she emailed me telling me i violated her privacy and shes getting a lawyer and will see me in court.
All this woman knows about me is my first name and my email. We never met. All i did was tell her husband what she was doin and forwarded him emails as proof. i was hoping to stay anonymous. Is it easy to get a subpeona to find this out about somebody in the state of NJ.
Does criminal activity have to take place in order to get a subpeona or can anyone just file a complaint and get one?
I saved the emails she sent me for my defense if it comes to that. She actually used the same email account to email me that shes getting a lawyer as she did when we chatted and she sent me the pics.
And am i liable for forwarding the emails? Did i break the law? Am i being too paranoid? I'm thinking she would have to file a civil suit against me to get one but on most civil suits the lawyer works on commission 33.3%. So would a lawyer even take the case knowing she wont get any money out of it?
Take responsibility for my actions? From your answer have to got cheating on your spouce? wouldnt you want to know if your husband did that to you or would you prefer to keep your heads in the clouds and be clueless? I didnt break the law and the husband believed me, it was the wife who emailed back saying that. Shes the one that needs to take responsibility.
