Is it easy to dodge a baseball bat or is that just in the films?

You are not going to dodge a bat if the person is aiming for center mass. That is done on TV for dramatic purposes.

If the person is standing close enough to you, it would be nearly impossible for them to miss.

Unless you have a gun, you are better off closing distance when this happens. This is done for two reasons. First of all, the person will not get as much momentum, and secondly you need to control the weapon to prevent multiple hits.

Well ......it's crap ........"Laughter" and "Trooper" explained it very well .....
....the best part of getting hit with a baseball bat is .........when they stop .....
....it feels sooo good !!

It doesn't matter what the implement is. What matters is the speed at which it is moving, where it is heading and whether you anticipated it. A swing of several inches at 60 mph, heading for your midsection, via the middle of the bat, is going to hit you. A full batter's swing, using the end of the bat, at 20 mph, heading for your head, that you anticipated, will allow you plenty of time to duck
