activity to register the FSA ? Hi everybody.

i am 30, french and i am going to establish a limited company in early 2009 in London, England.
It will be a consulting firm, with an international clientele ( i have already a client portfolio, mainly french and japanese ones).

But i also want to manage an asset portfolio (european equities & rarely derivatives) for the firm.... because it's my work. I have been a portfolio manager for a swiss private bank's office in Paris, and then for an important asset manager also based in Paris.
I recently resigned for my work because i was fed up to make my former employer earn a lot of money with my investing ideas. An employer with absolutely no gratitude for us... but that's life in this industry. And also because i had a fantastic opportunity to do something else than strictly "finance".

I choose London because of french tax policy and because japanese clients feel safer/secured with the London atmosphere for international business.

Then, i start a new exciting challenge for me.

Consequenty, the company will have two core businesses : 1/ advising clients about opportunities to invest in Continental Europe, esentially in luxury sector and, 2/ managing the company's equities portfolio in a proprietary trading orientation.

Can someone explain me if it would be easy or difficult to register to the FSA ?

Thank you very much for your answers !!!
