final? He left with a one day notice. He continued to pay the bills, filed 60 days later and 120 days after that the decree was finalized. At what point in there does it become taxable alimony?
Wow, you are full of hosility Skinny Dip, happy new year to you.

The agreement which was filed 3/10 stated that alimony would be paid 8 years from the date of the decree. I know it will continue for 8 years from that date, just need to know if it considered alimony before that date.

He left with a one day notice. We were married for 16 years. When we met he made $900 a month plus room and board. When he left he was making 115,000. During the marriage he got his masters and I took care of the kids and worked part time. After 17 years my employer closed its doors. (As far as his character since we are judging people SK, he jumped on the internet and is bringing back a internet order bride as we speak).
My question is as far as taxes, is it officially considered "Alimony" as opposed to taking care of your family? From the date he walked out, filed or it is final? Can't find anything anywhere on the internet.
At what point does it become TAXABLE?
