Is it common in Auckland that people use bicycle to go to their work/university? What facilities are provided to help people using bicycles? How about skates?

no, it is uncommon
majority of the students take buses because it is a lot cheaper than paying for petrol and parking
not sure about facilities for bikes or skates but both are uncommon here in Auckland
