Is it better to get a "D/F" or a "W?"?

I'm taking the Chem II and basically I've failed the first 2 tests with a D.
The professor said an A is impossible, a B is pushing it, but a C is possible.

I can repeat the class and the D/F will stay on my transcript but the grade I take from repeating it will count towards my GPA. Or I can withdraw and get a W, but I still have to take the class anyway.
It's a requirement for my major.

It'll bring down my GPA, for the scholarship, but the scholarship rules that if I retake the class during the summer and bring up my GPA, I can keep the scholarship for the Fall semester.
I'm going to go talk to an advisor... but what do you think?
So I don't know.
What should I do?

Take a W- I had the same issue with ocaenography. A D/F would have messed up aid and scholarships. They told me to take a W, I did and everything ended up fine.
