Is it better idea to use a single gear gentleman bike with 29-inch wheels than 26-inch..

...wheels mountain bike? I am newbie to mountain bikes, mountain bikes around here are quite heavy (I am not muscular/strong), mulling to use such a bike so I can handle the lighter weight when carrying across obstacles

The 29-inch wheel hopefully helps me overcome undulating terrains with its larger diameter, too
