From research that I've done, it seems as if medical schools look down upon biology and chemistry majors. (Less chemistry than biology, due to chemistry's difficulty I suppose.) They do this because many students major in one of the two sciences just to fulfill the requirements, and medical schools want students with broad interests. The problem is, I really like chemistry, and I would like to major in it. However, I don't want to look like all the millions of other pre-med students that major in chemistry JUST because they are pre-med. Is there anyway to convey my ardor for chemistry through my medical school application? My second choices for a major would either be Astronomy or Neuroscience. Am I better off majoring in those?
