is it bad to like going out and meeting new friends. i love to meet new people?

I am in my 30's and most of my friends don't feel the need but I like to keep my options open to meet a guy and find a job. I am unemployed right now and single after a long relationship my friends are all in serious relationships or married so they don't want to come out with me. I know they could have their break ups too but obviously they don't think about that. Do you think I come across as being needy or desperate
