Is it appropriate for me as an early years assistant to discuss the possibility

with a parent, that his son? may be ADHD.

I was speaking to his father and he seemed to be at his wits end with his sons behaviour. He's inattentive and violent towards other children in the group - He speaks no English, and very few words of his mother tongue (he's 2 1/2 by the way) The father was explaining that his son is being referred to a speech therapist, which I explained could prove beneficial. He also asked me if I thought his son had a mental disorder - I told him that I really wasn't qualified to make such a statement. I don't think he has a learning disability, but I do believe he is ADHD. I've spoken to the room leader about this and she's not really elaborated on my hunch. Should I speak to her again and ask her to refer the dad to his doctor with an idea of what may be wrong with his son, or should I just leave it be and not interfere. This is my first month at this job and I don't want to seem pushy and overstep my place (in a sense) Please advise
