I live in Michigan, and I live on the third floor of an apartment with a balcony. Yesterday I received a letter on my door from my landlord stating "I have received a few complaints from your neighbors about the noise you make when breaking ice off your balcony. I know it is not your intention to bother your neighbors in doing this, but it does cause a disturbance and I must ask that you stop."
Now, the neighbors around me are constantly cleaning the ice and snow off their balconies and make equally as much nose (but it does not bother me.). I was the only one who received this letter on my door, and I would like to know if I have a right for saftey reasons to keep the ice and snow off. I am paying good money for this apartment, and I would like to be able to use my balcony even in the winter. Thanks for your help
To HoneyBee, we were doing it during the day.
