I want to quit this job that I've only had for four days. It's at a hotel, and I almost never see my supervisor. I was thinking about just dropping off my uniform and a letter of resignation at the front desk. I'm afraid that if I talk to my supervisor, she'll try to talk me into staying, and that is definitely not an option. is this an acceptable way to resign?

You're been there 4 days and want to quit already? Wow - that's not going to look good on a resume!

I would rethink your reasons for resigning. Not only is not a good way to work in a business, but it's terrible for networking. Unless you live in a big city, chances are you'll have trouble finding work again if you resign like this. Managers talk to other managers - they make sure you don't work in the hotel industry again.

Also, do it like an adult. If you're going to resign, resign with a letter and directly give it to your supervisor. Dropping it off at the desk shows complete immaturity. You made the decision; now deal with it.

The best way is to give a 2 week notice! It will look the best, that way they have time to hire a fill in...
