Is it a good idea to sell my car and buy a new one?

I could use the extra money if I trade in my car and I was thinking of doing this:

Selling my 2002 Honda Accord for a 2001 Volvo S80

The Volvo probably has 6000 miles more then what my Accord has. Do a lot of people do this sort of thing to get a little extra money?

id keep the accord. expensive repairs and all that with the volvo, youre not going to get out ahead in the end.
