Is it a good idea to buy a Panasonic DVX 100a for my first short film ?

I was planning to buy an HV30 for 300 CAD$ but somebody got it first. There's a guy who wants to sold me a Panasonic DVX 100 a with a bag, telephoto lens, UV rays protection lens, wide angle lens, charging kit for 600 CAD$. Is it a good idea to buy it ? (He recorded only 88 hours)
