Is Hoot Wireless worth it?

right now i have a pay as you go phone (Net 10) and i pay about about $30 a month for enough texts/minutes. i was wondering if anyone uses hoot wireless, and if they like it.

also, i have an old deactivated verizon phone and i was wondering if i could reactivate it with hoot wireless but still use my net 10 phone number?
