Now for my real question. History is said to help people realize their past and know who they are today. I have also been told that it is used not to make the same mistakes twice. Or, use the same excuses twice? It seems to me that history is just another way to control people's thought process. The way I see it, people should have the choice whether to be educated or not because frankly, if the reason is to teach people a lesson...nobody is getting it.
Is history usual in a way to help people realize past mistakes?
