So I got into a little accident, this guy rear- ended me. I mailed the guy the estimate which is ~$600 dollars and he said there were some "extra charges" such as the clear coat. He said that it was that "'clear coat' is the same thing the dealers sell in the showroom, and it's a scam. Tell them you don't need it."
Is this true? Or is he just trying to lower the price of what he owes me?
