Is Gymnastic a gay sport?

Lately I was having a conversation, when gymnastics came up. The person I was talking to said that they thought most men gymnasts were gay as they had to do splits and wear leotards etc...

Also I would like to add that I am a male gymnast myself, I'm not gay just so you know and these sort of comments don't really worry me at all.
However I would like to know how the public opinion stands on this idea; Is it insecurity/ stereotyping, or do you think most gymnast are Gay?
 
actually i think most are straight cause all the ones my sister went to high school with are either married or have girl friends

its just stereotyping..ugh...

i am a 17 year old male cheerleader.
i also go gymnastics as well
and it does not make you gay at all.
it means you have more power to do those things
hey it is not gay for you to do it.
im tired of hearing that, i really am.
i do those things cause i love to do them.
and i know im not gay
i have a girlfriend i been with for 6 months.
so if you love going gymnastics then you do it.
it allows many openings in your future.
