Everyone keeps telling me that GM is buying Ford, but am hesitant to believe because I can't find any such articles about this.

With the state of the economy today, I don't think any of the big 3 car manufacturers have the money to buy lunch. Let alone each other. I really doubt GM could afford to buy Ford.
There were however, talks, a few months ago, about GM and Chrysler merging to try to stay afloat. But, when they all tried for a bailout those talks seemed to cease.

doesn't sound right...GM is going bankrupt and so is chrysler. they asked ford to buy them out, but ford said they weren't going down with them.

no, the problem lies within the economy, Ford can't afford to keep paying their workers the amount they have been, and GM is actually making more profit

Funny thing, in my area a lot of the rumors are that Ford is going to buy the Chevrolet division from GM.
Now if I believed that one or the one you mention, then I would be in the market for the Brooklyn Bridge!
