Is getting the "HTC Evo 4G" worth paying 500$ for?

honestly, because my birthday is coming shortly, approximately like a week and a couple of days, and I don't know if I should spend my birthday money(When I get it lol) on it. should I? and why?Ohh and im on sprint and cant get a new phone with a contract, because upgrade isn't there yet.
