Is getting someone a t-shirt with a photo of their kids a stupid idea?

I started dating this man and his birthday is coming up. I have no idea what to get him and of course I want to get him something special. What if I get him a t-shirt made with his kids picture on it. Is that an ok gift? Please help........thanks.
Any ideas as to what to get him?
 
...No, hon, I'm sorry. Not only would he probably never wear it, it's just kind of tacky. Everyone knows those are the gifts kids buy their grandma at the mall kiosks.
