Is Ford Fusion a good family car?

A Ford dealer an hour away from me is having a great deal on them. I have two young children and was wondering what your thoughts were on this car, and/or do you own one and what do you think about it? It would be worth the drive for me to go check it out if I could get some other opinions from people. Thank you.
 
My friend got one and dislikes it very much. He says it's cheaply made...and remember it is a Ford- found on road dead...fix or repair daily...
