Is financial literacy and economics the same thing?

In Utah I took a class that was .5 credits that was called financial literacy. It was very similar to the class I'm taking now called economics. Both classes were about finance management and stuff and both needed to be taken to graduate. I was wondering if I could just take the credit i got from the financial literacy class and still graduate without having to pass the economics class...

Does anyone know if I could substitute my economics class for fin. lit. ?
