I don't trust them a whole lot.
I'm a Phillie's fan and noticed a big error ESPN made reporting last nights (Sunday night) game against the Mets.
Pagan hit an inside th park homer. Ball was stuck under padding incenter-fieldd. Victorino stopped looked at it and raised his hands - without touching it. Ibanez came over and got it - threw the ball into the infield.
Ibanez should not have done so - it would have absolutely been a ground rule double per stadium rules. ESPN did not report this FACT. The announcer says something like "Pick that ball up!" without ever explaining the facts.
So ESPN makes Victorino look like an idiot, when actually his baseball intelligence was dead on accurate. Ibanez messed the play up by picking up the ball!
