I just watched the episode "Random on Purpose" for the first time. At the end, when Eric and Abby were signing to eachother, Abby asked him how he knew how to sign. I couldn't catch all of his reply, but saw the signs for "child" and "deaf", to which Abby replied "just like me". Does this mean his parents are deaf, like Abby's parents are? I'm curious and I couldn't find a mention of it anywhere online. He also said he's been signing since he was seven, so I didn't think it was likely he was born to deaf parents, as he would have been signing earlier.
After watching a few more times (the actors don't know sign language, it's not very clear), I've decided Eric signed something more like "grow-up" instead of child, and Abby signed "lucky for me", not "just like me". This is killing me, but the camera angles don't help, which was probably done on purpose since the actors aren't fluent. Ideas?
