Is driving a car in San Francisco, CA, other Bay Area cities,.....?

Other US cities and in cities all over the world coming to an end? They just closed a small stretch of Market Street and a couple of streets through the Presidio in SF today. Are we seeing the elimination of the auto in cities?
 
Not to be rude, but this is a dumb question...lol. Sometimes thuroughways get too busy, for even pedestrains to walk. SO they need to close these areas because they become a fire hazard (most common reason). Look up the reason for the closure at your city hall!
