I am a ford man but I will tell ya Ddoge makes strong engines, the 318 for example I have owned in a 1978 and it had over 300,000 miles on it. Ran great with routine maintenance and I was the 5th owner. Their transmissions have been top rate until they started using Mitsubishi for them. At that point they started using lighter weight and less duable components. But those are just my thoughts on it. But Ford had the best selling truck award for how many years, and lost it then to a foreign auto maker (Toyota).
