He seems to still have an endless supply of the drug which confuses me because of the events of one of the earlier episodes. How can he still be getting it if he basically was forced to cut himself off from the supply? In the real world it's a very hard drug to get access to, so it's questionable how realistic it is now. Did he figure out how to make it somehow like he was taught to make chloroform? That sounds very unlikely as well, since I don't remember him having a background in chemistry. It's still one of my favorite shows regardless and I can easily suspend my disbelief.
