Is dancing and ballet a peformance or sport?

i dont want opinions. i just want a factual answer. i searched all over google and found no sites proving that dance is a sport. its not even on the list of sports. i just wants some facts because it gets on my nerves how women want everything they do to be considered a sport and there's people i know who think dancing is a sport. just because what they do is competitive and require lots of physical strength they automatically think its a sport. but a sport is way more than that imo. we all know of a sport as a competitive competion where you have an opponent and you're judged based on the most points scored, best timing, furthest distance, anything like that. dance doesnt have that and neither does cheerleading and ballet.

but then again every weird thing is a sport now these days. it's not what it used to be. one day gardening or cooking might be a sport too. that takes energy and you could compete with others. lol
