Is criticism of Geithner fair or is it similar to the "Fire the coach!" argument...

Not So Great American

...on a losing sports team? I'm a Chicago sports fan so I'm very familiar with failing sports teams. After a bad game, you could tune into sports radio and hear a chorus of voices convinced that all the team needed to win is a new coach. The fans don't want to blame the players, instead they second guess every move made by the coach and convince themselves that if only they were the coach, the team would have won.
Maybe it's a bad analogy, but it seems to be going on in the case of Geithner as well. I have my doubts about him, especially the way that the AIG bonuses were handled by him and the treasury in general, however I'm a little sceptical of people who want to saddle him with 100% of responsibility when it comes to the economy. There's definitely enough blame to go around.
