I've been wanting to write a speech on the topic for the longest time. In some cases marching band is more hard work than most high school sports put together and it lasts longer. People have collasped marching because it was too much. It also teaches discipline, balance, teamwork, and competition along with memorization, endurance, and your left from your right. 
I just want to know your opinion. Is marching band a sport or a hobby/activity?
