I am a swedish student, and have for a long time wanted to go to the U.S to study. It just so happens that i have relatives living in Palm Springs with a condo that i can rent cheaply.
I have checked up on the prices and i can afford the fee. But is it a good college? They brag about being a cheap college, but cheap often means bad. Anyone with experience or friends that have studied there?
I am currently studying Space Science, and even though my interest of Astronomy have dried out a bit, i am still interested in science. Language is not a problem.
So:
1: Is the college good or bad? Some Pro's and Con's would be appreciated. i'm not very picky, but i don't want a complete shit-college either.
2: How is the travel system? I would prefer not using a car, but the condo is about 15 miles away from the College. Any buses? I have checked on the Sun-Bus lines, but they didn't seem very promising.
3: How is the night-life in PS? Is it any good for a 20-year old? What is there to do?
4: Also, the books cost quite a hefty sum, 1200$/term. Is there any cheaper way to get hold of them? Second-hand or rental?
Anything else i should know about? I have been to PS a few times, but only with my parents, so my experience is quite limited to them.
