Is Chevy's 350 block 4-bolt-main really that much better?

I understand what the 4 bolt main is and how it seems stronger, but in reality, is it that much better than the regular 350 block? Everyone claims that the 4 bolt mains are way better, but to me they don't seem much different. Maybe stronger in a way but does it make this block worth paying extra for? Thanks!
