is castrol gtx high milage good for my 85 ford f150?

1985 f150 4.9 motor 85,000 miles and its carbed ... i just bought 10w 40 castrol gtx high mileage its part sythetic ... willl this oil be good for my truck also should i add a bottle of lucas stabilizer or no thanks for help
 
it should do well, but you might experience hard starts if it is cold where you live, because it 10w 40 is thicker than 5w 30. i say add the lucas.
 
castrol is the best oil around. i been running it for years. my camaro is on 143k and still going with no problems. i run high mileage. when they says its liquid engineering i believe it. when i drain the oil it comes up thick. other oils drip into the pan and sound like water
