Ok, so I know a guy who is selling an iPhone 3G for 100 bucks. I have a T-Mobile contract, with a Sidekick service plan, which means it has internet and stuff.
Ive been reading stuff on the web and i just dont know what to believe anymore. What i'm asking is, will unlocking the be worth it? If I have a data plan with tmobile, wont the internet work on it still when I get it unlocked and jail broken? My friend, whos unlocking it for me, did the same thing, and his works fine. But ive read about all kinds of problems over time, and not being able to use the iphone to its fullest.
Obviously it wont be the same as AT&t, but will unlocking it and jailbreaking it allow me to enjoy msot of the iPhone features? I don't want to waste money and just brick the damn thing. So any and all answers/experiences with this thing will be much appreciated.
And yes, it is a legitimate iPhone 3g, Im holding it right now... it works great. Just no SIM

It will work but i dont recommend it. If you do drop it or accidentally break it, there wont be any warranty on it - not to mention even ATT jailbroken iphones arnt covered by warranties.

You might want to do some more research on it before you make a final decision.

Well i actually want to buy a iphone and unlocking it myself and using it for t-mobile because my familly has that carrier and i kinda have that same question.

I don't think he's selling an iPhone. Take a look over on eBay and see what used iPhones 3g are selling for. It's a lot more than $100. I think he's got an iClone. Avoid it.
