Is buying a bike at wal-mart as dumb as buying a guitar at wal-mart?

ive been wondering that because i know if you get a guitar at wal-mart that thing will only last a year. Ive gotten all of my bikes at walmart and they havent been completely awesome...

hardcore bike people...is buying a bike at walmart suicide?
